One of my favorite places we couldn’t go was to The Narrows. Extreme Danger of flash flooding, check it out, there's not too many places you can go if a flood of water hits. Mary and Ryanne (my youngest daughters) learned how to ford the river at ages 7 & 6. There were times when the water rushed over their heads and I couldn’t see them. They kept walking and soon their heads popped up with a big smile on their face, just like the scene in A River Runs Through It. I’m not sure how it’s done, like swim-walking, and it’s awesome to watch. No, I’ve never been a normal mom, let’s leave it at that. The boulder in the picture on the right is about ten feet in height. Sheer rock towers above you almost the entire seven mile hike. You have to look straight up to see the sky. These pictures are showing you where the sun is hitting the rocks. This hike is just like the movie, "The Goonies"! |
